1-4

Day 1-4 - Four days of dog sledding and three nights in the wild.

We will pick you up in Jokkmokk and drive you to our kennel, located just outside Jokkmokk.
Here those who need get dressed in warm thermo parkas and pants and boots. You will learn how to handle a dog sled, how to communicate with the huskies and learn about safety in cold climate etc.
We harness the sled dogs and pack the sleds and get ready for start. You will drive your own team with 4 Siberian huskies.

Every day we stop and prepare our lunch over open fire out in the nature. By the huts and tent camps everyone helps out with taking care of and feeding the dogs, cooking and fetch water from the lake/river etc.
In the tent camp we stay in a large common canvas tent, heated with a wood stove. We are sleeping on reindeer skins in warm sleeping bags.
The cabin is a simple but cozy wood hut without electricity or running water, also heated by a wood stove.

There is no guarantee for northern lights but hopefully we will see this fantastic light phenomena dancing over the sky during the nights.

On day four we head back to Jokkmokk and will arrive to the kennel in the afternoon full of new experiences. We give the dogs some snacks and take off the harnesses.
After saying goodbye to your new friends we drive you back to Jokkmokk.

Tour Reviews

BEST VACATION EVER (review fr TripAdvisor)
My best friend and I are seasoned travelers and of all of our trips this was by far our favorite. Nothing can prepare your for the adventure you will have dog sledding through the untouched wilderness of the Swedish Lapland, making fires in the middle of snowy lakes, sleeping in teepee tents and cabins lit by just candlelight and wood burning ovens, and bonding with some of the happiest, friendliest dogs in the world. Stina and Matti are extremely knowledgable, passionate, and accommodating to the needs of their guests, their precious dogs, and the environment. I must make mention that i was skeptical in going dog sledding that the animals might be mistreated, and as a vegetarian and activist this would bother me immensely. This was not the case AT ALL. These dogs are cared for with the utmost respect and love, and treated individually to the needs of their own personalities and abilties. They love what they do, their owners, and their lives. After the trip was over my friend and I found ourselves missing them and our guide Stina instantly, wishing we could have spent more time with them. They went above and beyond to accommodate dietary needs, and even to celebrate my birthday. The booking process was seamless and easy and Stina answered every question we had to make us as comfortable as possible and offer the best suggestions for our travels through Sweden.
This was truly a once in a lifetime, and life changing experience and I guarantee i will be back for seconds. Thank you Stina and Matti and all your wonderful dogs! /Teeroks
