We travel over ice-covered lakes, frozen mires and through snow-covered forests, and we tell you about the landscape we travel through.
What is hiding in the deep forests around Jokkmokk? Many are the wild animals that move here. We show you the winding tracks across the white snow and with dog sled we travel relatively quiet so sometimes we are lucky enough to see any of the animals.
You sit as a passenger on the dog sled with an experienced guide steering the dog team. During the tour we stop to barbecue pork, sausages and boil coffee over and open fire. Here you get the chance to greet and hang out with our social, kind and loving huskies and we are happy to answer any questions you may have.

For who?
You will sit as a passenger on the dog sled while we are steering the sled.
On the sled , it’s like a bench you’re sitting across. You must therefore be able to sit wide apart with your legs and be able to bend your legs 90 degrees. Up to 4 persons can sit on a sled and you must sit very close to each other.
If you are a very big person (heavyweight) it can cause problems for the dogs, that the sledge break and problems with the space on the sledge. Therefore, you must state your height and weight when booking.
If you are unsure if you are able to take part don’t hesitate to send us an email and tell us about yourself and your worries.
Minimum age is 8 years old to follow on this tour.
Babies and small children on outdoor activities for many hours in winter are not recommended, therefore we have an age limit of 8 years old. We have taken smaller children on tours before but too often they end up in tears and the experienced is ruined for everybody involved.

The tour starts at Jokkmokkguiderna´s kennel in Skabram 3 km west from Jokkmokk.

If you can´t get here on your own then we can pick you up in Jokkmokk center for an extra fee of 200 SEK. The transfer must be booked in advance.

Any visit to Jokkmokk during winter is incomplete without a trip over the snow with Matti and Stina’s incredible working huskies! We had booked a 3-hour morning trip with them and it turned out to be our best Swedish Lapland experience. We were joined in by two very passionate and cheerful companions and four of us, after being given suitably warm and cozy outer gear by Stina, were taken to the white forest wilderness by Matti and his huskies. We rode on the sled through the frozen lake Skabram. It was very good to be with very warm and welcoming dogs and they took us to a tent in the middle of the forest. There we had a wonderful little barbecue and coffee. It was a very pleasant experience. Both Matti and Stina are very warm and patient hosts and communicating with them was never a problem. I highly recommend this activity to anyone who wants to have an authentic Lapland experience. / Mithuraaj
