Soon the summer is over and the beautiful autumn makes its entrance. The month of September offer a color exploding landscape, mosquito free days and dark nights with a chance to see the northern lights.
We offer two hiking tours this fall and there are still a few places left.
First out is the tour Hiking to mount Skierfe and the Gate to Sarek National Park 7-12 September. A 6-day trip with 4 days hiking where we will take us up to the Skierfe cliff in Sarek National Park where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Rapa River delta.
The first and last night we spend at the cozy Åsgård hostel here in Jokkmokk and out on the hike we spend the nights in tents. This is a very nice tour and is also suitable for you who may be a beginner and have never mountain hiked before. We walk in a small group of a maximum of 8 persons.
Hiking to Mount Skierfe and the Gate to Sarek National Park
Last up this fall we offer a Wildlife expedition in Sarek National Park, date 19-26 September.
We will fly helicopters to the park border and then we will spend some exciting days in the most dramatic parts of Sarek National Park, in the valley of Rapadalen.
Rapadalen is home to many large carnivores such as wolverine, bear, lynx and golden eagles but also Europe’s largest moose.
The moose here are less shy people because hunting has been banned in Sarek for a long time. During the month of September, they have their rutting season and they are busy finding mates which makes them even less cautious of people. September is the ultimate time to go. And with just a bit of luck we can get really close to these majestic animals.
The first and last night we spend in Jokkmokk at Jokkmokk Guesthouse.
